Bleaching in Tha Yard

I think it's easy to blame the bleachers, and sure they are being foolish, but I noticed that that the dermatologist and the host were both lighter skinned. And all spoke of bleaching as a means to gain social status whether through work, love interests or whatever.

So what they were saying showed true in the very report. We're still suffering from colourism in our communities and it's not only hollywood, it's everywhere. especially in Jamaica and the west indies. plus obama is half white, which made it easier for him to be 'in' with everybody.

terrible thing though not to love yourself. i don't condone it, but I understand since the same society that tells them not to do it, is the society that oppresses because their complexion is black.

I know you are all sick of hearing about Chris and Rihanna but I thought this was a good video to check out. It's based on the actual police reports from the night. The end is shocking as it notes that 1 in 3 teens are abused in a relationship.

Rapper COMMON has launched an online book club to encourage literacy and creative writing among youths.
The socially-conscious MC, who has previously turned his hand to writing children books, has set up The Corner Book Club on his website CommonGroundFoundation.com.
The site will feature interviews with authors and items to inspire teenagers through the art of storytelling.
Common says, “My mom was a teacher, and growing up she always stressed the importance of education. So when I look back it’s not a surprise for me to use words as a tool to make change, and to inspire children for the future.
“You’ll never stop growing; you shouldn’t. And it’s alright to be a teen growing, but not in height. I’m talking about wisdom, experiences, and self-knowledge.”
